Software delivery culture and methods are a passion for me. Anyone who’s explored this huge subject will have found there’s a vast collection of research, conference papers, and journal articles stretching back decades.
Many people don’t share my excitement for tracking down and reading these sources, so I created SDN to be the kindling to spark your joy of this knowledge.
The episodes on SDN are narrated by NotebookLM. Behind the scenes, though, every single source has been selected by me from my collection.
Each episode is a jumping-off point to help you decide if the subject is one that catches your interest. Perhaps it will be the SAGE project from the 1960s, or maybe the modern research from DORA.
When you find something you love, you’ll find the link to the original source in the show notes, so please check it out.
Up-front about AI
We want to be up front about the podcast being created through NotebookLM. It gives us a dependably entertaining duo of presenters who are able to highlight the crucial parts of the content.
We know there are ethical considerations around these tools. Our mantra is that our work should be net time saved. That means we save time in the creation of our episodes and you save time as the episodes can help you decide which content to dive deeper into and what to skip.
This is an experimental approach and we’ll be temperature checking with our listeners to make sure they feel this is valuable to them.
Not just AI
While the episode is generated by NotebookLM, the selection process is a human one. I only create episodes around valuable content. That means I’ve read it and vetted it long before I turn it into an episode.
The second crucial human element comes from the authors, researches, writes, and editors of the original content. All the smartness comes from them.
I hope you enjoy using SDN to discover new things!
