SDN looks at long form software delivery content and brings you a dive into the subject to get you up to speed.
To do this, we use NotebookLM’s audio overview feature to summarize and present the key parts of each research publication, white paper, or other long text.
Think of this as a jumping-off point to get you into the subject so you’re ready to go read the original publication. Sometimes it’s easier to absorb a summary first, and it can be convenient to have something you listen to when travelling.
Up-front about AI
We want to be up front about the podcast being created through NotebookLM. It gives us a dependably entertaining duo of presenters who are able to highlight the crucial parts of the content.
We know there are ethical considerations around these tools. Our mantra is that our work should be net time saved. That means we save time in the creation of our episodes and you save time as the episodes can help you decide which content to dive deeper into and what to skip.
This is an experimental approach and we’ll be temperature checking with our listeners to make sure they feel this is valuable to them.
The hosts and their glitches
In general, they do a pretty good job of presenting the topic with energy. They do have glitches, speak a word in an odd way, or get in a spin over the flow of conversation.
We’ve left all these glitches in the podcast as we’re not trying to pretend these are real hosts. This is a NotebookLM audio overview, not real people.
